Membership Fees
The Association of Young International Criminal Lawyers (YICL) is introducing fee reductions for all members, with a possibility to opt for a “no fee” option for certain categories of members, effective from 2023.
There are currently the following categories of members:
- Individual Members
- Collective Members
- Honorary Members
Starting in the year 2023, certain categories of individual members will benefit from either reduced fee option or no fee option, depending on various parameters. However, all members, and potential members will be encouraged to pay if they can afford to, irrespective of which category they belong to, as this represents YICL’s main source of income and goes towards payment of maintenance cost.
The following categories of members, no matter where they come from, will be able to choose the option of paying no membership fee for as long as they are able to show that they meet the eligibility criteria:
- Students
- Interns
- All persons who were already Individual Members in the year 2022
The option of paying a reduced membership fee is offered to individual members who work in the following countries:
Note: Being born in the following countries or holding a passport from the following countries will not be counted towards the offer of reduced membership fee, and the applicant must be able to show that they are “working” in the following countries to be eligible for the reduced membership fee.
The individual members under this category will be paying a fee of 5 € (five euros) annually.
The list of countries produced here include Lower Income Economies and Lower-Middle Income Economies and exclude Upper-Middle Income Economies and High-Income Economies. This list was generated in December 2022.
